My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only 33 years old. Then again at 36. And she survived both times thanks to agressive treatments and surgeries. Needless to say, prevention has been part of my vocabulary ever since I was old enough to know better. That includes preventive tests every year. And no matter how often I do them, the stress always goes up as I get closer to the tests and the results. Because – what if? What if they found something that I just didn’t notice? It’s so easy to forget about it the rest of the time, to think that it only happens to other women. But when it comes to that time of the year..
Anyway, the results for this year just came back on Friday – and all is good! So this weekend I decided to celebrate the great news..well, by treating myself to some pretty new bras of course
Some favorites from around the web:
1. Minneola bra at Bhldn. |2. Red and black lolita bra by Majo Rey Lingerie. |3. Eberjey goddess plunge bra.|4. White cotton bra with bow by Love Baby Grand. |5. Colette racerback bralet by Eberjey.
yep
My mom passed away from breast cancer about 10 years ago, so I, too, have been on a crazy prevention/screening regimen since! I love hearing about women who have kicked cancer’s ass multiple times. And your lingerie idea is perfection! I’m adding it to the regimen.
So sorry to hear about your mom, Jess – really wish she could have kicked cancer’s ass too. But yes, get on the lingerie thing, and we’ll laugh at cancer together in our pretty bras
