{live here, eat that} brick lane

Melbourne brick house via Desire to Inspire| Rosemary flatbread with blue cheese, grapes & honey via Food & Wine.

Growing up in Brittany, I wasn’t so familiar with brick houses. In Brittany houses are traditionally made out of granite stones. It’s not that I didn’t like them, but they weren’t familiar to me, I could never feel a connection to brick houses. Until hubby and I moved to Denmark a few years ago. Brick houses are more or less the standard over there, and as I fell in love with the gorgeous Scandinavian home decorating styles, I also grew fonder of brick houses over time. Especially houses like this one, which beautifully showcases the bricks inside to add character to the home. Note that all the bricks are in black and white (rather than the traditional yellow or red bricks) to make sure the house keeps its modern vibe. It’s perfection, I love it.

And when my brain thinks about bricks, my stomach thinks about brick ovens. yum. Oh the pizza and the brick oven breads – one of the reasons why I like grabbing a quick lunch at Cosi…so today I’m pairing the brick house with this rosemary flatbread with blue cheese, grape and honey. Happy Tuesday, friends!
