{live here, eat that} country + city

Here I am enjoying my parents’ huge backyard and the lovely fields of the French countryside, and what do I choose to feature on the blog? A New York townhouse of course. I guess I miss home – and my hubby…what can I say, the grass is always greener on the other side.

But this is not your typical NYC townhouse. It looks more like a little cottage in the countryside than a place in the city. It is the home two designers who renovated the place, and I’m in love with their work. It’s airy, homy, charming. Lots of natural materials, lots of white, big windows, and check out that loft at the top of the ladder with the extra guest bed – how awesome is it?

And to me, nothing says cottage chic like an apple tart!

It’s so simple to make yet it look so pretty with the apple slices opening up like a flower in bloom. When I was a little girl in France, my mom used to make these almost every Sunday afternoon…it’s one of my favorite treats! Find the lovely recipe by Helene from Tartelette here on her blog. Enjoy!
