{live here, eat that} A little beauty from Brittany

Today get inspired (and hungry!) with some treasures from lovely Brittany, where I grew up. For those of you not familiar with this area of France, Brittany is a place with many traditions, the most beautiful coastline, and it is full of people with a lot of (often good) character. Not too many tourists go there because its climate is well, rather damp to say the least, but don’t let that fool you – it’s well worth a visit if you ever get an opportunity to go.

Anyway, look at this gorgeous little house that I found here. It has everything that I love about houses in Brittany – the big stone walls, the beautiful green garden all around the house-, but brings in all the right modern touches. Lots and of light – oh do I love all that light!-, windows and bridges makes all the rooms feel connected. I am totally in love. And I am pretty sure a few of you are going to be charmed by it too.

I couldn’t possibly write a post about Brittany without sharing an easy crepe recipe with you – which I found via DesignSponge! Because really, Brittany and crepes go together like Boston and cream pies.

Crepes are one of my favorite treats ever. Probably because they remind me so much of my childhood. When I was little, we used to have “crepe dinners”. You heard me. All we ate on those nights were crepes. Crepes with a dash of sugar (my favorite, so simple), with jam, with nutella + bananas, with ham and cheese, with fresh fruit – you name it! You can only imagine how excited me and my siblings were on crepe nights! But really, it’s the beauty of crepes: one batch of crepes and you have yourself an endless amount of possibilities. Just let your imagination run wild.

  2. Beautiful! And yes – with sugar is, to me, the only way to eat crepes. Maybe with a little lemon juice or jam. Although, after skiing a whole day… nothing beats crepes avec chocolat. Ooooh yes, dark chocolate sauce all over.

    I didn’t realise (or maybe I had forgotten) that you were from Brittany… I can totally picture you running around those charming streets! I’ve never been, but it seems so picturesque and charming… like the house that you showed here :)
